Eilen kantautui maailmalta suru-uutinen, että The Allman Brothers Bandin perustajiin kuulunut, muun muassa Ramblin’ Man -hitin kynäillyt kitaristi-laulaja Dickey Betts on kuollut. Syöpää ja keuhkoahtaumatautia sairastanut Betts oli 80-vuotias.
Kun tieto Bettsin poistumisesta tuli julkisuuteen, useat muusikkokollegat julkistivat sosiaalisessa mediassa muistokirjoituksia ja surunvalitteluja. Bettsiä muistivat muun muassa Slash, Joe Bonamassa, Zakk Wylde, John Corabi, Grateful Dead -rumpali Bill Kreutzmann, Al Di Meola ja entinen Allman Brothers Band -kitaristi Warren Haynes. Myös muun muassa Gibson-kitaravalmistajan, Muscle Shoals -studion sekä Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Famen some-kanavissa muistettiin edesmennyttä Bettsiä.
