Tieto kitaristi Alexi Laihon kuolemasta on ravistellut tänään rock- ja metallimaailmaa aivan perustuksiaan myöten.
Suru-uutinen suuren soittajan poistumisesta on tavoittanut miehen muusikkokollegat paitsi meillä myös maailmalla. Muiden muassa ex-Ozzy Osbourne -kitaristi Gus G., entinen Megadeth-mies Marty Friedman, yhtyeen nykyinen kitaristi Kiko Loureiro, Nightwish-solisti Floor Jansen, Testamentin Alex Skolnick sekä Arch Enemyn Michael Amott ovat esittäneet omat surunvalittelunsa ja muistelunsa sosiaalisessa mediassa.
”Olen täysin musertunut Alexi Laihon aivan liian ennenaikaisesta menehtymisestä”, Friedman kirjoittaa. ”Hänellä oli musiikillisesti vielä hyvin paljon sanottavaa jäljellä.”
