Gary Holtin tunteikas jäähyväisviesti Slayerille: ”Kaipaan niin filosofisia keskusteluja kuin pieruhuumoriakin”

Slayer on nykyhetkisen tiedon valossa historiaa. Lopettamispäätöksiin on tietysti nykyään vähän vaikea suhtautua vakavasti, kun bändit lopettavat ja tekevät comebackejä tämän tästä, mutta kukaties Slayer osaisi pysyä manan majoilla. Onhan se parempi lopettaa siinä vaiheessa, kun pystyy vielä soittamaan niinkin kovan jäähyväiskeikan kun viime kesän Tuskassa nähtiin.

Slayerin vihoviimeiseksi tituleerattu keikka nähtiin viime viikonloppuna Los Angelesissa, ja nyt kitaristi Gary Holt julkaisi Instagramissa pitkän hyvästelyviestin bändilleen. Tästedes Holt keskittyy jälleen Exodukseen, joka hänen varsinainen yhtyeensä on aina ollutkin.

”Haluan lähettää sydämelliset kiitokset kaikille, jotka tukivat minua kun astuin tämän Slayer-nimisen hirviön maailmaan”, Holt kirjoittaa.

”Haluan kiittää Tom Arayaa, Paul Bostaphia ja Kerry fucking Kingiä. Tulen kaipaamaan niin paljon muutakin kuin lavan jakamista kanssanne. Kaipaan vitsejä, lavamokista koituneita rangaistuksia, filosofisia keskusteluja, pieruhuumoria, naurua, lauluja, bussimatkoja ja drinkkejä. Valtavasti rakkautta kaikille teille.”

Holt lähettää kiitoksia myös Dave Lombardon suuntaan, mikä on varsin tyylikäs veto. Lombardon ja Slayerin välillä kun ei hirveästi ole rakkautta viime aikoina ollut. Lue Holtin koko viesti alempaa:

Now that the final show has come and gone, I just want to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported me stepping into this monster called Slayer.
