Bob Dylanin fanit saavat olla tarkkana, mikäli mielivät saada 50th Anniversary Collection -nimellä kulkevan 4 cd:n julkaisun hyllyynsä. Dylanin levy-yhtiö Sony on tehnyt kokoelmasta vain noin sadan kappaleen Euroopan-painoksen, jonka se on jakanut valikoituihin eurooppalaisiin levykauppoihin. Kokoelma pitää sisällään ennen julkaisemattomia studio-ottoja ja liveäänityksiä vuosilta 1962.
Kuten arvata saattaa, levystä on jo nyt tullut todella arvokas keräilykohde. Discogs-sivustolla levyä näyttää olevan tällä hetkellä myynnissä yksi kappale 4000 euron hintaan.
Levyn julkaisun varsinainen syy selviää sen alaotsikosta The Copyright Extension Collection Vol. 1. Eurooppalaisen lainsäädännön mukaan teoksen tekijänoikeuslainsäädännön mukaan musiikilla on nykyään 70 vuoden tekijänoikeus entisen 50 vuoden sijaan, mutta lakimuutos koskee vain kaikkea vuonna 1963 tai sen jälkeen julkaistua. Tällä tempulla Sony siis varmistaa, että sillä säilyy oikeus näihin vuonna 1962 julkaistuihin kappaleisiin.
