Birminghamilaissuuruus Black Sabbathin Tony Iommi on julkaissut kotisivullaan uuden tiedotteen. Syöpään aikaisemmin tänä vuonna sairastunut kitaralegenda lupaa fanien iloksi runsasta keikkailua keväällä ilmestyvän odotetun studioalbumin kunniaksi:

”What a year! Certainly not the one I was expecting. Thanks to you all for your massive help and support, it was very encouraging.  I’m still working on the album and managed to play three shows, not bad given the news a year ago.  I’m looking forward to next year, seeing what you think of the record and touring as much as we’re able. My Best Wishes to you all, I hope you have a great Christmas and New Year, most of all, stay positive!”

Black Sabbath on tähän mennessä ilmoittanut esiintyvänsä Australiassa ja Uudessa-Seelannissa aikavälillä 20.4.-4.5. Tokion-keikka taas tapahtuu 12.5.

Muun muassa Ministryn, Rigor Mortisin ja The Revolting Cocksin riveissä soittanut kitaristi Mike Scaccia puolestaan menehtyi lauantaina 22. joulukuuta 47-vuotiaana. Muusikko sai sairaskohtauksen teksasilaisen keikkapaikan lavalla ja tuupertui saman tien estradin pintaan. Muusikon kuolinsyyksi paljastui myöhemmin sydänkohtaus.

Ministryn legendaarisella Psalm 69: The Way To Succeed And The Way To Suck Eggs -pitkäsoitolla esiintynyt kitaristi osallistui kuoliniltanaan Rigor Mortisin laulajan Bruce Corbittin 50-vuotiskonserttiin.

Ministryn Al Jourgensen kommentoi tapausta tunteellisesti: ”I just lost my lil’ brother and my best friend – the 13th Planet compound is devastated, completely in shock and shattered. Mikey was not only the best guitar player in the history of music, but he was a close, close, close part of our family – and I just lost a huge chunk of my heart today. Our lives are forever changed. Life without Mikey is like orange juice without pulp – kind of bland. I have no words to express what this guy meant to me, my family, my career. . . . everything! … Rest in peace my brother, my friend, my heart. Please pray for Mike Scaccia and Jenny, his wife and their children, and his family.”
